Available Tartans : Full List of Names, Districts, Cities, etc. The following list is in three sections... Some names will have Tartans available in all three of these color variations, some in only two and some in only one. City, District and other Tartans (featured at the end of the list) are designated by three letters (ie. "FOS" or "BRC") and are grouped in the three catagories for ease of reference, although many of these designs incorporate colors from more than one color variation. This mixing of colors is also true of the Clan Tartans, in a few cases. All Tartans are given a number for ease of reference and to help prevent ordering mistakes. TheTartan for MacDonald comes in three color variations; the numbers help keep it clear which color set you want. As with anything that has grown over time, there are inconsistancies in the numbering system, but no two Tartans share the same number. On the next page, click on any name to see its samples. Samples are for your ease of reference -- they are as color-accurate as possible, but due to the wide variety of computer monitor possibilities, they are not meant to be definitive.
